Pesca World Seafood Restaurant - Alberto Alfonzo, Chef/Owner
With a heavy heart and great disappointment I have to announce the closing of Pesca Seafood Restaurant. We enjoyed great success for a few years with Tintos Spanish Restaurant and most recently our seafood concept Pesca Seafood Restaurant. We thought that by changing the concept it would give us a chance to introduce a fresh and innovative seafood concept and boost revenue. Sadly this did not happen.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone that has been a fan of both concepts and have given my staff and myself lots of fun memories. Without your support I would have never lasted this long.
I want to thank all my family, friends and most of all my wife, for their support and always giving me courage to reach for my dreams.
The restaurant industry is an awesome business, but also very tough and you can only do it because you love it and I love it! I have been cooking since I was 9 years old, and have been in this business for 23 years in my young 46 years of age. I truly love what I do and love to see people enjoy my food.
I am a persistent person with a lot of passion for this industry and I am sure that you will see me soon somewhere in a new project. I will make sure to let you know.
For now I want to focus on healing and resting and getting my life in the right path so that I can keep reaching for my goals ahead.
I’m excited to be representing Houston in the Latino Hotel and Restaurant Association Gala in Miami at the end of September, where I will be competing in an “Iron Chef “ like competition against Douglas Rodriguez one of my favorite Chefs and a winner of the James Beard Award and Best Chef Food and Wine Magazine (wish me luck)!
I leave all of it to God my savior and I am sure that with his guidance I will find the path to a greater career and future in the food industry.
Again thank you and I will see you soon.
Chef Alberto Alfonzo
